Arrangements for the funeral of Lt Cdr Roger Davies RN

9 Jan 2026 - The funeral of MCDOA member Roger Davies, who crossed the bar on Saturday 20 December (see my article for 26 Dec 2025), will take place at the Test Valley Crematorium in Romsey on Wednesday 21 January at 1200 followed by a reception at Kimbridge Barn, Romsey.

Further details, including an opportunity to make donations in his memory, can be found via this link. As is our Association’s custom, your committee has agreed to donate £40 to each of Roger’s chosen charities, the Winchester Hospice and MacMillan Cancer Support, in Roger’s memory in lieu of a floral tribute.

Please email me via this address if you plan to attend the reception so I can make sure the family is advised of numbers for catering purposes.

Happy New Year. Thank you for the details of Roger’s funeral – it is with sincere regret I cannot attend. It clashes with another funeral on that day at the same time in Newport, Isle of Wight that I need to be at. It should be a good turn out – Roger and I were Leading Hands together in the 1970s – however, Roger was Minewarfare and I was a CD2!!  ͏ ‌
