MCDOA members attend MWA Christmas Dinner

6 Dec 2025 - Joint MCDOA/MWA members Martyn Holloway, Bill Kerr, John ‘George’ Turnbull and Yours Truly (Rob Hoole) thoroughly enjoyed last night’s MWA (Mine Warfare Association) Southern Area Christmas Dinner at the Bridge Tavern in Old Portsmouth. All were accompanied by their wives except Bill.

 
 

Unfortunately, my fellow MCDOA co-founder David Sandiford and his wife Pauline were unable to join us owing to a sudden family issue.

We are hugely grateful to Jim Hawkins, the MWA’s Chairman, for organising such a successful event. The food, service, ambience and company were exemplary.
