Julian Malec gives Crabb talk
14 May 2026 - Last night, MCDOA member Julian Malec OBE delivered a highly informative and entertaining talk about the mysterious disappearance of Cdr Lionel ‘Buster’ Crabb GM OBE RNVR to an appreciative audience at the Paterson Centre in Swanmore.
It was a joy to see fellow MCDOA member Geoff Goodwin & his wife Marnie as well as ex-CD & HDS (Historical Diving Society) Chairman Mike O’Meara and old RN friends & colleagues Angus Somerville and Rab Scott.
The most authoritative book on the subject is ‘Crabbgate’ written by the late Dr John Bevan, honorary member of the MCDOA, record-breaking RNSS (Royal Naval Scientific Service) diver and founder of the HDS.
