Families Barbecue now cancelled

7 Jun 2024 - Regrettably, the Joint-Association Families Barbecue planned for Saturday 22 June at Horsea Island (see article for 28 Mar 2024) has been cancelled owing to lack of support. It was open to all members of the MCDOA, AORNFCD, MWA and RNCDA plus their families but only 27 ticket applications were received. The event required a minimum of 50 attendees to make it viable.

This missed opportunity is such a disappointment, especially as the recent survey of MCDOA members indicated a wish for more social events. Many thanks to Kev Giles, our Social Secretary. for his efforts to get things up and running even if it was to no avail.

Those who have previously applied for tickets will soon receive an email notification from our Hon Secretary asking for their bank details so that their payments can be refunded. A sad day for our community.
