Arrangements for the funeral of Lt Cdr Stephen Harvey ‘Steamy’ Window RN/RNR

16 Apr 2025 - I am grateful to MCDOA member Jim Nisbet for this notification of the arrangements for Steamy’s funeral (see article for 9 Apr 2025).

Steamy's funeral will be held on Tuesday 29 April at 1330 at St Anne's church in HM Naval Base Portsmouth. Those attending will need to present at HMNB Portsmouth, Lion Gate on foot and it is advised to arrive in good time (from c.1300).

In order to manage security access arrangements, the following information must be provided:

Full name(s)
Nationality(ies)
Date of Birth
Place of Birth for each individual wishing to attend.
Serving MOD Form 90 (Service ID) holders should confirm this fact in addition to this information.

All attendees must provide photo ID confirmation on the day at the gate and without this in addition to the information above, access cannot be given. Access arrangements will be managed centrally via Steamy's RNR unit, HMS KING ALFRED, but the necessary information can be passed via FB Messenger to Jim Nisbet no later than 0800 Wednesday 23 April.

There is intended to be an opportunity for those attending to celebrate Steamy's life after the service in HMS KING ALFRED: the same security access information should support this - this will be limited in duration, concluding at 1700, due to the requirements of the unit.
