Arrangements for the funeral of former CPO(D) Joe Maher

8 Nov 2025 - The funeral of Joe Maher (see my entry for 22 Oct 2025) will be held at the Isle of Wight Crematorium, Whippingham, East Cowes PO32 6NJ at 1415 on Thursday 20th November. A wake will be held afterwards at The Lifeboat pub in East Cowes about two miles away. It’s a lovely setting by a marina on the River Medina and Joe’s wife Viv tells me that she and Joe went there frequently for lunch.

Viv and her daughters Claudia and Kirsty hope that as many divers as possible will join them for the service and the ensuing buffet at the pub.

Viv has also advised me that the service will be streamed online so that people can watch it live or catch up with it later. Watch this space for a link.
